I found this plastic 'ladder' clothesline the other day in LeeValleyTools here (and after I got home, for 1/3 the price including shipping from China via online auction site).
It's light, and surprisingly non-stretchy. It's a fairly hard plastic braid (think cheap yellow poly rope). I could imagine it for a gear hanging line (using mini carabiners) or similar.
Thoughts? (Possibly too bulky for backpacking...)
I imagine a line with prussiks on it could be lighter and more versatile. It could serve double duty as an extension for a guy line to get around that tree that's just too far away other wise. But this 'ladder' I only can imagine doing this one thing. I may be wrong and un-imaginative though too

I could see it as a ridgeline, wet clothes get heavy really fast.. But I would want to see weights tests before I trusted it...
