I wasn't really talking about Salt Springs. We could definitely do that, though; it'd work out to be somewhere in the range of ~14 miles or so.

I was talking about the US-19 trail head south of Buck Lake, where the FT crosses 19 from east to west. That's a little over 20 miles and is an awfully pretty hike.

Alright, then. Let's shoot for the US 19 trail head south of Buck Lake, then; I'm familiar with that territory.

Do you want to do a shuttle on Friday and Sunday so that we don't have to walk the 20 miles back to the car, or would you prefer to have two long hikes?

Well, if I had Monday off and it wasn't the first hike of the season for me, I would rather the two hikes. But I will need to get home on Sunday.

I might can make this trip. Write me in pencil. I still have gear I need to get. Depends on if it gets here in time. Maybe if I do get to go I can get some advice from some of the more experienced people.

What gear are you looking to use that you don't have yet?
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I "technically" have everything I need. But in my noob haste to buy everything I didn't pay attention to weight. So I am expecting some lighter weight stuff. I just have to decide if I want to do this trip with heavy gear or not. I may need to put on my big boy underoos and go anyway. No pain no gain right lol. But thank you for asking.
