Since I cannot make this hang either, I'll look forward to this trip report and see if there was talk about the Dec or Mar dates.

Also, FH4, I can take you and 2 others in my car and drop off at Pat's island trailhead for ~1 1/2 hour each way day hike to Hidden pond. There is also a giant sinkhole less than 30 min hike from the trailhead. It needs to be seen.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

We might want to make that an organized hike, I'm sure a bunch of people haven't seen the giant sinkhole nor the Long family cemetery.

That'd be fun. I think Saturday, maybe? Do it as a day hike to go over there, and then to Silver Glen Springs if folks are amenable?

They're not too far from each other. It would be a fun loop.

Depending on if anyone wants to do the hike in with me, I should be in around dark-ish on Friday (call it anywhere from about 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; I should be able to give an ETA on Friday morning here on the boards). I'll be leaving on Sunday, time again depending on if anyone wants to do that hike in and/or shuttle on Sunday. I would like to make it back to my car by dark-ish again.

That'd be great! (Cue Tony the Tiger punch into the air.)

Do you have a preference on whether we come in from the north or the south?

No preference. Are you thinking on hiking along the FR?

"FR"? Do you mean the FT (FL Trail)? If so, yes. I've got the maps for the area as well as the data book (though much of that information is somewhat out of date). I'm fairly familiar with everything south of Hidden Pond, but not north of it.

Sorry, I ready you wanted to hike from SR 19. I didn't see where the FT crossed it so I thought you mean't to hike along the Forest Road (FR10).
