Hey SkyPainter,
Thanks for the pics and the great idea. I usually tied a small string on the suspension line but I like your idea better.

FWIW...Googling this brings up many warnings about bread not being nutritionally balanced for water fowl and how a steady diet of bread can make them fat, etc. But I find nothing to support that they can't digest bread and that "they will get really sick, or die." In fact, what I found states that in places where many people feed the ducks bread, over population is the problem.
===> not so much Ducks (although they are affected too), but Canada Geese. And feeding them bread tossed in the water is worse. It sinks to the bottom, and can develop Botulism, which will kill the animal. If you feed them on the grass close to the water, it is better, but not good. Why we have a need to feed wild animals is questionable, but the dangers are known.

[QUOTE=SkyPainter;1146255]===> No need to over think drip rings! I simply take the rectangular plastic closures that come on a loaf of bread, use scissors to cut the solid side into a point, and snap them on whatever suspension line I am using at the time!
Long or short tabs - both work equally well as drip rings/stoppers! FREE, ultra lightweight, easily replaceable if lost!

Excellent idea! Finally a use for all those tabs my wife seems to accumulate
