It looks like I have this weekend off, so I'm in. (one to three of us) We have hiked extensively in the Sipsey Wilderness but have never visited Dismals Canyon. Looking forward to it.

You'll have to search around (this guy must have a lot of spare time) but I read his report on Tishomingo (sp?) SP and he has a few reports on Sipsey Wilderness. Lots of gear reviews

He lists HF as forums he visits. I checked the member list and found a stick and a stick2, but no way to tell if it's this blogger. I only mention cos you guys are talking ab Sipsey. Sorry if not appropriate to list here.

Okay Chriss. I finally got confirmation from the spousal unit. I will be there for the hang. I will not get in until later on Friday (hoping before 6 p.m.) but I'll be there Friday night and Saturday night.

Please let me know if you need me to do anything specific to help you and/or bring anything with me. It will be just me on this trip so lots of room in the Magnum.

Whooo Hoo! After returning from the AT (if I would have been anywhere else but the AT, I might would have had HF withdrawal) I was happy to see this hang has developed into a good looking little group. It will be close to 7:00pm or so when I get there Friday evening as well. If anyone has any questions or concerns, email me at [email protected]. I will be glad to help you out anyway I can. I have paid the site fees and cleanup fee. When you check in there will be a 2 day pass fee ($22.00) as well as a 7.50 per night camp fee. I promise it is worth it.

Love the Sipsey Wilderness, infact my 3 year old daughter is named Sipsey

Be advised there is a strict 10 person group limit in the Wilderness. Thats no reason not to have it there, there are plenty of places to group hang.

Awesome Amelander! I love the name of your little girl! We are actually haning at Dismals Canyon which is privately owned and not in the wilderness. We should be good. Come join us if you can!

Sorry your first hang didn't go so well. What kind of help do you need? I'm sure we can make this one better than the first.
