I'll take note of that. My webbing is an idea I got from David's passage on YouTube. I dont think the connectors will come off. Before I turned them around after the test run, they were wedged in. It took a lot to remove them and this was when the screws were not in yet. The weight must force them down. Either way I will heed your warning.

Do you think I should weld them on?

I have been racking my brain to figure out a solution. I actually made a 2x4 frame but it is so bulky and heavy it is not practical. The only reason that I am not going to HD right now is that they are closed, but tomorrow night on my way home from work I will be buying me some EMC. Thanks for all the useful information.

    Happy in St. Pete.

1/ the hammock will not cause the connector to pop off if the the screws are tight enough. the ratchet strap across the top may how ever.

here is something else to think about, next time use a factory 45* instead of the 90* most stands of that style (mine included) have the uprights at near a 45* angle and by using a 45* bend the uprights will be nearly straight up instead of canted in, before loading.

Nice idea. I have an old backyard stand for a spreader hammack a friend gave me. You are right about a doublenest fitting the unmodified stand with your butt touching the bottom. I didn't think about buying a factory 2" EMT fitting. I think I'll check out the Lowes tomorrow.

    Good job!

Hi ,Did you use these fittings on both ends of the hammock stand , or just the foot end. Thanks , John

P.S. Do you think a emt electrical conduit 45 degree fitting would work better than the 90 degree one ?

You should also consider the gauge of the tubing (EMT or Fence posts). Mine taco'd under load - me

Does the 2” emt conduit just slide over the ends? I too was thinking a 45 would bring it straight up perhaps. I want to do this probably but there is another stand option the T
