Pretty sure it is Polyester. And I found an earlier post - I misquoted, it might be 2.6oz. General rating for a single layer is 300#, according to folks who know more than I do...

also in my experience as a sailor, polyester is more UV resistance than nylon.
I like my tablecloth a lot, no issues but i only weigh 160 and 5'9".
