I just joined to and I ordered my first hammock this eve. I travel a bunch in E KY with my job. There's a bunch of good wilderness. Steep slopes, flashy creeks. You should hit the cumberland, especially the big south where it is protected or the red river gorge which is much closer to you.

I don't go across that river unless I have to I spent a lot of time in the gorge when I was a kid in Scouts...my son is a brand new Tenderfoot so I'm starting to get back in the woods with him. Plus my dad has a little land on a hillside in Estill County...I plan on spending some time hanging around there.
