Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a few weeks and finally took the plunge. I was a scout as a kid, and now my son is a boy scout and I like to tag along. I can't hardly sleep on the ground, and the idea of sleeping in a hammock appeals to me for a number of reasons such as comfort, ease of packing, weight, etc...I'm a big guy so I made my hammock out of 1.9 ripstop with webbing for suspension, just ordered my cinch buckles and now I plan to use the leftover ripstop to make a stuff bag for the hammock. I must admit I really enjoy making my own gear, I sure am giving my wife's Singer a workout. Anyways, it's great to be here and if anyone frequents the trails in Eastern Ky we may cross paths some day.
