is like this arrangement stacked:
A quilted cotton top cover,
thin insulation layer like batting,
essentially a rubbery emergency blanket,
thin insulated layer like inside a pot holder(a space blanket like/batting layer combo...
Other than being a bit bulky seem ideal for Spring/Summer UQ or underlayer inside..
Anyone know this stuff and tried it???
Haven't tried it, but you lost me at "batting". How much does it cost?
batting??? maybe i got the wrong word....i mean a thin wispy layer of synthetic "stuffing"....about 1/8" thick......
48 inches wide...buy it buy the yard...about $25/yard...but they always have a 40% coupon....so you could get 72 inches by 48 inches for like $30....
I think it is called warm window. . . There are a few threads on it. It is heavy and does not drape well... and not compressible.
If you are looking for a cheap uq project, try a poncho liner uq or get a fuel ikea comforter... really, you are better off cutting out a Starbucks trip twice a week and putting the cash in a mason's jar... you'll have enough cash for a down UQ in no time....

I used it as a "slide in" for my PLUQ. I sewed up 3 sides of the PLUQ and left the bottom end open to slide in the Warm Window material, then I added some Velcro to hold it in place. It works pretty well when I am car camping but is very bulky/heavy. I have used it down to 45F and it kept me pretty warm.

i gave up on this, atleast as far as UQ goes...too bulky...I am thinking some sit-upon's, smaller stuff like that....????
pot cozy/pot holder, etc
If this is the blackout fabric that I use for my windows,
it is really heavy..... for some DIY material for cozies and such,
you might look at reflectix... unless you already have some of
this blackout fabric.
I use this stuff between the layers of my hammock in super cold to supplement my uq. It really helps. I also let my dog lay on it when she goes with me when it is cold, keeps her snug. I really like this stuff when paddling or car camping.
