Holy crud, that thing is huge! It's a freaking two man hanging tent! You would definitely have a place to store your gear high and dry if you soloed with that hammock. How does it lay in comparison to a NA?

Well dang, I guess my wish list just got a little longer.
I don't think this would be a hammock you'd take on a long hike, but if you shared pack contents with another person and split the load, you might be able to shave some ounces/pounds off your pack by making the other guy carry this and you carry his quilt.

This sounds a little off topic: Which park ran you out? It is always nice to know which sites to avoid and why.
'scout
the park was a state park here in southern IL the park run me out because of all the dead and falling limbs for the big ice storm that went over southeastern Missouri and southern IL and western Ky. There is no problem with me hanging there in fact they always come up and see what's new in the hanging community.

Whooooo Buddy)))) All Secure in Sector Seven
thanks Cavediver2 for sharing the thoughts and pics!
Man, that thing is cool.
I'm interested to hear how this holds up in wind and rain.
FYI, I grew up in Illinois and partied at SIU Carbondale a lot. Halloween was always a bash.
cheers!
Me too until they started bringing the National Guard in to control halloween but it's gotten a lot tamer now. SIU was rated # 1 in Playboy for many years as the partying College of all time. The powers that be wanted to change that and they did to some degree.
Rainy season is among us so will let you know how it handles the rain and wind.

one thing I can't understand why is the height of the bug netting so darn tall.
It looks like from your pics that even if you were sitting up there would be
several feet of wasted head room due to the excessively enormous pole used
to support the head end netting.
Is this just an optical illusion or does it seem a tad extravagant?
( really I am just looking at all the pros and cons before buying one)
