great feedback craig. honestly, i had only heard SLD mentioned once or twice in my first 2 months on this forum. they definitely have same good stuff though, and as a wannabe UL (not gram weenie tho) backpacker, i definitely appreciate someone who tries to keep it light.

your shangrila should be here soon, no? I'm just waiting on my tarp skins and warbonnet bugnet to round everything out.

Thanks, I really enjoy the lay in this, still fine tuning the ridgeline a bit but I'm really close with it now. I should be getting the Shangri La soon I ordered it seam sealed so a couple extra days for that then I also ordered a TQ and UQ to take advantage of his sale so Paul may be shipping them all at once.

Ordered mine today. 11' 1.9 DL Camo w/adjustable webbing suspension. I think I'm the tallest 6'5' 245 to order form him so far. We will see how It compares to my WBBB XLC 1.1 DL. BigRed77

That should be a good comparison, the BB has a reputation for being very comfortable

hey craig, wanted to ask you how you felt about the cat cut design of the hammock. how noticeable is it? it seems like it would be similar in function to knotty mods.

It is nice not to have the ridge of fabric folding up when laying in the hammock other than not feeling swallowed by the fabric it lays real nice. Also, the DL allows a pad to be slipped in between if wanted. Just looking at it hanging there isn't anything that says it is different from a regular straight cut hammock till you lay in it.

I hung in a different hammock last night for the first time since Jared sent me the Streamliner, first thing I noticed was the walls of fabric surrounding me. I was in a Knotty modded gathered end, and the mods do their job, but I couldn't believe the view I had gotten used to.

That is cool to hear, definitely more of a view around with the cat cut sides.

So after 10 days of playing around with my new setup there is only one thing I want to change. I want to have the wind sock on the inside and the bug sock on the outside. With the way it currently is I can't really pull the wind sock up 3/4 and tighten it down then get the bug sock all the way up. for both easy wind and bug control.

A quick email to Jared this morning after seeing he has a new Ultra No-See-Um netting now that is ~30% lighter I will be ordering a slightly bigger bug sock and possibly sending my wind breaker back to him to shorten it to fit inside and have everything all nice and snug.

More updates in a week or so as unless I sell some stuff that is in the FS forum, I will wait till payday to place my order.

Otherwise I really enjoy the Streamliner and today I get my TQ and UQ so may have to crash outside tonite.

    Craig
