I did a 6-night trip recently that featured a lot of rain and high relative humidity.

Gotta say, I was impressed at how well my down UQ and TQ worked, both EE Downtek-treated, Revelation and Revolt. I was sorely tempted to take my Climashield quilts but glad I made the commitment to give the down a serious test.

Also, no stuff sacks were used... packed 'em as usual simply by stuffing them straight into the bottom of my Arc Blast.

I love my hydrophobic down quilts. I've never had any real issue with the quilts becoming wet, other than when it's 100% humidity - and then, everything's wet anyway.

Yeah no issues with mine either.

Regarding the treatment, I don't think it matters in most cases. Like you mentioned, at 100% humidity everything is damp. It's like a brand new deck you just treated. The water beads up instead of soaking in like the old wood. But they're still both wet.

So I still think the treated down is geared towards shedding water. Major water (rain, dropping pack in a river). On a humid/foggy night, the dampness is still in there. The treated down isn't magically blasting it 2 feet away somehow.
