I think it's a neat idea for dayhikes, not so much for camping.
It's not an add The mod was really nice and offered to put us on the sidebar while our Kickstarter is running. Really awesome dude. It's still there one the right just under the "new to hammocks" part.
We realized that after we first posted to r/hammocks. We decided it wasn't a good idea to send out hammock-backpacks with ropes if we could at all afford it. We found a great manufacture that does all kinds of webbing and rope stuff (for towing and shipping) I showed him my design and they said they could make them no problem. They even offered to put our logo and safety warnings on there for free . They will be long strong and have a ton of clip on points. These straps will come as a free add on if and when we hit the $9,000 stretch goal. To tell you the truth we will send them even if we don't hit that mark. We really want to be seen as a tree friendly company and the straps will add a lot of value to our product.
Btw, I have camped with this before, but it is not really targeted at the hammock camping crowd (at least v1.0 isn't ) I think it is really more suited to casual hammockers who just want to always have a comfortable and convenient hammock with them all the time. It's for those spontaneous hammocking opportunities that sometimes show up in life. Before I made mine, I maybe hammocked 2 or 3 times a month. After I started carrying my hammock with me everywhere I went I started hammock 2 or 3 times a week.
To everyone who took the time to leave me feedback, I would like to express my gratitude. This place is a professional and friendly as I heard it to be

I think you guys have a great idea there, I carry a medium Alice pack with me daily and I think the option of having a hammock on hand just incase the opportunity arises is an awesome idea, I'm more surprised some of the cottage vendors around hear haven't tried this already, I'll be watching for our product, best of luck to the both of you, I think I'm already considering one to add o my collection.
When talking about tree straps, I would
never call it a stretch gosl. I realize this
is a kickstarter term, but no one wants a
strap that stretches, and there are some
out there that do.
Just use a different term, lol.
Honestly, I do not see much difference between
this and just carrying a hammock, other than
always having it there and easily accessible.
Perhaps you should use the Boy Scout motto;
Be Prepared To Hang
Have you thought of offering a tarp or
poncho or pack cover, or combination of those?
I think a tarp is most important especially since
this set up is for spur of the moment.
Also, you need to address how it will pack up
when wet. People will not want a wet pack or back
and rain is a sure thing to plan for. Will it
dry out when packed up? Are the compartments
separated enough to pack it wet?
You will need to explain why a integrated hammock
is better than just sticking one in your pack. Perhaps
you can make it to where you can't leave any
part of it behind??? Also maybe a mesh bag that gets
shoved in the same pocket, but can hang down
to let the hackedpack dry?
With the pack on the suspension lines, any water
will run right to your pack. You would need a
serious water break in any rain otherwise the
entire pack is drenched.

Well it ain't no Bridgeskin, but it is still a good idea to incorporate a hammock storage area into a backpack. Good luck!
Trust nobody!
great idea and for day hikes, with small pack, hydration, it can be a complete "day" system left alone and ready to go...kept in car closet etc for when you want to grab and run.. also with some slight mods it would be great for college kids who carry their tablet, laptop a few books and food,,think spring or fall on campus Good luck .
oh yea
Dutch...+1 on the bridgeskin
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
I just purchaded a diy bridge hammock so that I could
attempt to create a bridgeskin myself. I think that both
ideas are great. Its amazing how long ago Dutch
created the bridgeskin.
HackedPack would be much more for consumers as
the bridgeskin is very intricate. The main difference
with my DIY is that it has an integrated bugnet!
Dutch was "The Man" long before Dutch Clips hit the market. He's just cool like that.
Where I see the benefit of this KS design is for exactly what the OP mentioned; school/college kids. The hammock can be deployed without the contents of the pack being removed. I can see how this would be great for trying to sleep-off a hangover between classes. Not that I have any experience at all with such activities.
Trust nobody!
