Hey, its a hammock forum! A good one too. And friendly. Only forum I belong to, just for those reasons. A great bunch of people. The Mods pointed out the reasons for the change and obviously wisht they didn't feel the need for the change. So...Bravo Mods. You run a great forum. I think that's what everyone writing earlier on this thread really meant!

I have been away from the forums for a few weeks, due to work and then summer camp with the Scouts. Logged in the other day, and saw the ban on gun disscusion, no big deal. I come here for hammocks. Now I read this thread, and it has turned into all the rest of the gun threads, folks with very little input on Hammock forums getting all worked up because of this change in policy.......RR

FWIW, none of the mods are anti-gun. On the mod staff, we probably own enough personal weapons to outfit a small neighborhood. I'm not exaggerating. One of us even owns a firearms training business. We just don't like what firearms discussions do to THIS forum, so we get our gun talk fix elsewhere...where it's more acceptable for people to be jerks to each other because we don't run those sites.

It's just like when someone called me anti-military for banning political speech that involved the military. When you have eight deployments, come talk to me about it. We don't talk politics on HF even when the mods agree with what's being said.
