    safe way to remove

I recently returned from an 8 day solo trip to the BWCA in my new WBBB. I developed blisters at the base of each thumb while getting used to a double bladed kayak paddle. To help speed the healing process, I put some Neosporin antibacterial ointment on and covered with band aids. During the night, some of the ointment oozed out the top of the band aids and got on the fabric of my hammock.
Could someone please help me?? -- I need to know what solvent I might use that would remove the oil-based ointment, and yet be safe on the fabric and leave no stain. Anyone every run into this type of problem? Does anyone know what works?

Find some similar scrap material and replicate the stain, then try to remove the stain from the scrap so you do not further 'tie-dye' your WBBB.

If it bothers you too much .... sell it to me for half price

Great idea Turtle Creek (the testing a scrap piece part, ...not the offer to buy my WBBB for half price. Ha!) Thanks!

Dawn dish soap and hand wash the area, hang to dry. Safe enough to remove a oil slick from a baby seal and safe enough to remove oil based neosporin from your hammock

    I hope that helps

    I agree with WickedKlown2.
Get some Dawn dishsoap, warm water, a sponge, and go to town.

Seconding the Dawn Dish soap. I use it as a pretreat for those occasions when the bacon grease splashes and turns into oil stains on tech t shirts and it works great. Gently work it into the stain, then rinse thoroughly until no more soap comes out, hang dry and you oughtta be good to go.

Worst case: Mechanics hand cleaner... removes grease from anything, just don't get the stuff with pumice grit...
