It seems like the taper, down to 14", would make it difficult to stay on, especially if using the shorter ones to save weight and mimic a 2/3 or 3/4 UQ. Any experience with this? I'm kinda sorta looking for an inflatable pad in my continuing search to replace an UQ... although I no longer remember why. Oh well.

I just picked the insulated version from amazon for I think $59.99 with free shipping as a prime member. Still don't have my hammock up. I have slept on the Inertia X Insulated a few night on my cot outside but found it to be a little slippery. I am going to make a few 6" wide wrap around bands of the non skid stuff you put on your dashboard or make a complete new pocket arrangement for my Big Agnes since this pad is 23" wide and the Big Agnes pad pocket is only 20"wide. I think it is a keeper at that price even if I have to do some modes.

I have the green uninsulated version of this from the very end of my tent days and haven't gotten around to trying this with my Reflectix roll yet. Hopefully it works as good for me as it has for some of you.

Mine was a little slippery and liked to move around. A 1 foot square piece of non skid under the mattress at my back are solved the slipping.
My uninsulated static v worked great. Only issue I had was a 40 degree drop in temperature that deflated the pad. By the time I realized it, I was almost too cold to function properly. Learned to always have extra insulation handy and never trust the forecast.
You have the Static V? Not the insulated version? I sleep cold and definitely want warmth. I have a 0* Big Agnes and am looking for a pad good for hammocking. The uninsulated version (green) is lighter and compresses smaller than the insulated version. I'm pretty sure the insulated version would keep me warm but if the green one does just as well, I would prefer to get that one. Which would you recommend?
