Usually state parks are prety lenient about check in times... I have never been turned away for showing up early... But it depends a lot on the person's mood too...

As I think about what I need to remember, a few things came to mind so I thought I'd post in case anyone else needed the reminder that I do.
Food for meals other than Saturday breakfast and Saturday night pot luck. (Well, do bring something for the pot luck as well as a serving spoon or what's needed )
Plate, cup, utensils...
Chair for hanging out at the campfire
headlamp - sun goes down now at 5:30
Firewood for your site (it's for sale out there at $1.00 a stick so it's better to bring some. Oldgringo is bringing some for our community fire, thanks buddy!)
If you’d like to participate in a Pay It Forward type gear trade, be sure to bring something to include. In addition, feel free to bring gear to show and tell, trade, or sell.
There will also be a prize drawing Saturday night, so those donating something for that, thank you in advance!
I know that some folks are planning on bringing dry erase boards & markers, as well as folding tables to help with the pot luck and gear swaps, so please remember those.
I'll remember the amsteel, please remember to bring some money for that and to help out with shared sites. (Paypal by cell phone also works for people like me who never carry cash.)
If you want a cell number to call to talk you in if you get lost, PM me and we'll trade.
What else???

If I remember right, I think they close the gate at 10:00pm. You might want to call and check. . .How do late arrivals Friday Night work at Fairfield?
The other couple that just got hammocks wants to attend (I previously increased my count to 4 to accommodate for them) just found out that she has to work Friday and will leave San Antonio around 6:00 pm so that puts them there around 10pm-11pm
I plan on getting there as soon as possible Friday morning my goal is to leave San Antonio around 4am since I don't have hammock stands and I'm not bringing a tent...
I'm planning on taking the other hammocks, etc and setting them up for them so then they roll in they can sleep and not bother people setting up. There is a possibility they can arrive around 5pm if she can switch her schedule with another person.
I've reserved a site with the Park already.
Hi Mike, will miss seeing you guys, but having to abort the hang, see you'ens another time, so meet, greet and eat, Oh! and watch Old gringo hoofing it with new hip, take care, jim
I will call.
Lets hope they are in a good mood.
My friend was able to switch her schedule so she should be arriving around 4-5pm. I will let the park know that they will be at our site with us but arriving later.

Seeing as sunrise is about 6:45 and I am not an early morning person, (fortunately my date will make sure I get up ), my plans are to have Saturday breakfast at our site around 9:00.
With sunset at 5:30, and my memory of trying to get a buffet set up and served in the dark being less than pleasant, my suggestion is to shoot for food ready for the pot luck Saturday night around 5:00. Any thoughts or other ideas?
