    Is that a concern?
I don't think that parking will be an issue. More than two cars per site
just makes an extra fee. It would be fun to see if there is parking away
from the sites, for people who want to pack-in to the event. This would
be in the true spirit of hammock camping, although it would ma ke it
difficult to do things like cook breakfast on Saturday for 65 people.

I do not think peopld would mind a car at their site, as long as the car
owners are mindful of noise, late nights and privacy. I do not know how
much the extra vehicle fee is, but if 3 were parked, that fee shoul be split
by all three vehicles, helping to offset cost.

I personally don't want the "crutch" of having a car nearby, so I am
hoping that there is secure off-site parking nearby. I would even suggest
a parking-swap. Find another campsite a few down from yours.
Switch parking with them. Both of Your cars will be several sites
away, which will reduce desire to go to car for unneeded things.
You are still close enough for a quick important trip.

    Fee update.....

4 dollars a person per day ages 13 and up
2 dollars a day seniors 65 and up
Born before 1930 age 85 plus - free
Kids age 12 and under free

Excess vehicle fee - 4 bucks for each over 2 vehicles
Cost of 3 vehicles - only 1.33 for each vehicle a day
Cost of 4 vehicles - only 2.00 for each vehicle a day
Cost of 5 vehicles - only 2.40 for each vehicle a day

    Parking is cheap!

There is a dining hall to rent, but it is a hundred dollars and
Sits 60 people at tables and chairs. Is it worth the 1.50 to
everyone? This is extra walking, plus less "roughing it".
How did your pot luck fare last time? Did people bring
enough tables to make it easy, or did you just make do?

There is an annual pass for 100 dollars. This gives admission
for holder and five guests. A second card can be added on for
just ten bucks. This would mean you could get entrance for
ten people plus the two card holders. This just for two nights
is a 96 dollar value, plus you get 50 percent discount on the
    second camping night (4 coupons).

I am not sure the savings would becworth the hassle of trying to
get in all of the guests, unless you were going to camp a lot.
The pass does say one carload of guests per pass, so a suburban
"Could" get in more people, lol.

One problem is that it is first come first serve in regards to
    Which site we actually get.

We can get the group desk to help us and
Actually reserve site numbers, but we need to
Reserve at least twenty one sites.

This seems easily attainable. Should we abandon
Individual reservations and just do a large group reservation,
So that people can choose actual site numbers?

The water only sites cost 12 bucks a night.
Standard admission is 4 a night.
With 4 people per site, comes to 7 a night per person.
With 6 per, comes to 6 bucks a night per person
At the max 8 people per site, its 5.50 per person
With 2 people per site, its 10 per person per night

These numbers make me think that 4 people per site,
is the sweet spot. Very diminished returns for packing
the site full. Assuming half of the 21 sites have 2 and
half four people that's roughly 60 people. Is it feasable
to reserve ahead for that many?

Personally, I would love to group reserve so that we
all can be in a concentrated area without people stressing
    about first come first serve.

Is an alternative just to let people reserve on their own?
If we reserve all 36 water only sites, does this guarantee
us to be close to each other? Are the sites too close to
    even worry about this stuff?

The sites along the water look prime, and I would rather
not be right by the restroom. I am even thinking of showing
up on Thursday to simplify things, and make it at 3 nighter.
Why do I feel like I should be reading a poem?

    TX>Fairfield Lake State Park>November 8-10, 2013 - 2013 Texas Fall Group Hang v

I have to disagree with the swap parking idea.
This is more of a car camping event for most than not. I'll want my car close. And, if you haven't been to Fairfield before you'll need to know that the Raccoons are no joke and they WILL open your left out cooler, foods, trash bags, unzipping of hammocks for that left over beef jerky in your pocket, ect. So, you'll want your vehicle close by to put things up for the night.

This is just what I want to do, not what everyone must do.
All I need is for one person to parking swap with me.
Just remember that on most trips, beinv close to your
car is not a luxury you will have. For me, this is a test.
I wrote a little poem about it :
    For those who must,
    There car can be just,
    A small ways away.

    But forymy own taste,
    I decided with little haste,
    To practice how I play.

    A car convenient one trip
Can make one lazy a bit,
    So focus might stray.

    Good food habits I try
    Clean dishes by this guy
    Frustrates coons all day.

    Disagree you might
    Not looking for fight
    Fun will be had anyway.

Honesty....iambic aside... you don't have to participate in the
Parking swap. I figure it will do nothing but help promote
Cleaner camping, efficiency and planninv ahead.

If my car is two sites down, I won't make frivilous journies,
which I might be tempted towards if it was very close.
    Just an idea and brainstorming.

I also am planning a geocache game. Should be fun!
