Noob question: Can a hammock sleep two?

I've looked for the answer to this but just couldn't find a clear answer. I've seen lots of pictures of people sitting together, but I can't find anything about sleeping together. Sorry if it's been discussed already. If I make a strong enough hammock and suspension to hold our combined weight, would a hammock still be comfortable if my wife and I slept together? We like each other.

Well a lot,of this is opinion on how you and your wife sleep, but obviously would need a rather wide hammock to do so. But with the double next hammock from eno. (Po post to be able to sleep two people) personally I couldn't sleep two people in a hammock seems really uncomfortable to me just doesn't seem all that practical. (Again option size of hammock size of the two sleeping in it do you guys roll around move a lot) just some factors to think about.+ the two people so post to lay diagonal for flat lay seems rather difficult.) I say great for chilling in with two people sleeping two I would be miserable! Hope this helps

I had a GT double hammock and neither my wife or i could stand even relaxing in it for more than a couple seconds. It is just not that comfortable.

It does help, and that's what I suspected. Thank you. I should have said; I've never slept in a hammock. I'm making my first one now.

Probably goes without saying but before you hang I suggest doing a fair bit of research here on how to set your hammock up with the proper sag and what-not. Otherwise you won't be comfortable with yourself, much less two people!!

Depends on the hammock and the occupants.

My GF and I sleep together in the same hammock a few times a week at home. We are not the norm in this discussion, but the exception. Try it and see if it works for both of you, but don't make plans until you've done the experimenting.

Some folks will be able to hang double OK....most of us though like to move, stretch and adjust though the corse of the night. With 2 in a hammock you both gravitate to the low center of the hammock being pressed together. Not bad for some things and make a nice snuggle or little naps but most of us will at some point need to get up, or stretch out or roll over or...or...or and there is no way to do this without disturbing the other person.

Good way to find out is go to your wife and hug her, now lay down on the bed still hugging and stay that way the rest of the night...
