Wally sells a variety of pads depending on their suppliers. The two most common are a course stiffish pad that feels like polyethylene. The other is a fine grained more flexible pad that looks and feels like volarafoam. Both insulate well but the stiffness varies. At least one of the Stansport pads is a two layer with both foams. Given a preference I like the volarafoam better as it has a bit more cushioning. None of the CCF pads collapse much under pressure so they are good insulation.

Yoga mats also vary in their sources but tend to be a heavier than the camping mats. That is not a given so they are worth checking out.
    YMMV

I "purchased" one of these, using "site to store," because the wal-mart website said it was out of stock at my local walmart but they could get it there by the time I was back in town. They charged me for it but never send me a confirmation email. I went to the store the next afternoon and they said that they knew nothing about it even though I gave them my order number. The store manager claimed that "site to store" is a "different entity from wal-mart and wal-mart is not responsible for what they do." I managed to "cancel" the transaction but that is the last time I use "site to store!"
Funny thing, I walked down to sporting goods and guess what I found? A whole load of the Venture Outdoors camp pads! I got one and tonight I am going to try cutting it to fit my hammock.I will try to post some pictures and let y'all know how it turns out.

    Did you try it out?

I'm a total noob that just received a WBBB double-layer hammock and am real curious how this Venture 25"x78" pad worked out. I am almost thinking the 25 inches is wide enough to wrap around my shoulders without needing the wings (SPE is it called?).

Did the pad work OK and was condensation a problem? I realize I could just buy one and try it out, but I'm not really going to be using it until next month, when I expect the outdoor temps to be lower. So, any advice would be much appreciated.
