Arrow ViDEO: Superior Hiking Trail...Leveaux Mt. to Cross River

I just did not get enough time in the woods on my last trip so off to the Superior Hiking Trail in Northern Minnesota to do a section that has eluded me. So glad I did. A solo walk clears the head and polishes the soul. Lots of rain and thunder. Not much lightning. The bugs were not bad at all.....only black flies I saw were at the parking area at the trailhead. My cuben fiber tarp from HammockGear kept me dry in some hard and sudden rain.
Enjoyed my meals. Packit Gourmet suits my palate in the piney woods. Truly enjoyed the West Memphis Grits Soufflé for breakfast from the hammock. Good with the new Peanut Butter Pop Tarts....living like Lil' Lord Fauntleroy. Cooks Tour!
The trail was muddy and wet and like walking in a creek. Fun)))))
Carlton Peak was worth the trip. Been meaning to get there for a while. No campsites on a long stretch. Hit the trail Thursday at about 1:30 PM from Oberg Parking on Co. Rd. 336 and headed South to Cross River. Got to camp at around 8:30 PM. Temperance River was as always...amazing and mighty.

Thanks Shug. You're trip reports are always a joy to watch. Wanted badly to get out this weekend as it has been cool but had work obligations. Watching your stuff is the next best thing to being on the trail myself.

    Looking forward to part 2.

Fun report - Thanks. The river looks awesome! Nothing like some hot food and coffee under the tarp in rain. Makes me want to go walking.

The video did not do the river justice....you could feel it in your chest. Raging!
    Go walk. For sure.

That looks very fun. Your campsite had a fantastic view! Love hearing the roar of the river.
