    I tried this but I think I have the wrong conduit for the ridge pole...mine is far too thing to be threaded. I want some more length so I will see if I can find the Rigid kind and thread 3 pieces to give me 13 feet or so.

    There is the thin wall stuff that you can bend by hand and that doesn't work. But if you pop down the electrical isle at home depot they sell 3/4" conduit thats galvanized steel and is already threaded on each end with a connection sleeve on one end. It comes in 10' sections. If you know how long you want it they will cut and thread it at the store too. It is like $15 a section or something like that though....
