I found my Mountaingoat skins were a bit looser fitting which allows the tarp to be folded up much smaller. Good Good.

Yet another vote for Mountaingoat. Fantastic service, speedy service, and remarkable craftsmanship. Could never ask for more, and the price is killer too.

    Snake Skins/Tarp Covers

I've seen some DIY snakeskins that are one piece, but the ones I've seen for sale are two pieces. Is there an advantage to one or the other?

In my experience, Mountaingoat quickly ships a very high-quality product at a value price with top-notch customer service. When I need another set of tarp sleeves, they will certainly come from Katharina.

As for the mesh vs. nylon, I have a feeling it may be quicker and easier to pack the mesh skin covered tarps smaller due to the fact that there will be less trapped air in the mesh skins. Just theorizing....

I've had (bought) one-piece skins before my current mesh two-piece. Not much difference, but the two piece allow for slightly easier packing, and also when rigging you can pin down one side before letting loose the second. Good in e.g. windy conditions I'd imagine. Although you could just do the one-piece back half-way too. See second sentence
