    Snake Skins/Tarp Covers

What are the advantages of getting a mesh snake skin like Mountaingoats as opposed to the nylon Snake skins from Hennessey Hammock or vice versa??

Mostly weight, all of my tarps are rigged with the mesh style covers. It also allows for breath ability if you pack it up wet when on the trail. I carry mine on the exterior of my pack when trekking.

Like mannowar said its the weight savings. I have two sets of mesh snakeskins from mountaingoat and they are amazing! Great service and quick turn around time. As far as the breathability goes for a wet tarp, I don't really think it has helped me dry my tarps out any quicker.

Along with what the others said, Mountaingoat will make the skin to fit your tarp. The HH skin would not fit my Kelty 12x12 so she make me one that would.

I think I am going to order some from mountain goat.
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.

I ordered some for my Warbonnet Superfly. I was very pleased with how she runs things. Can't wait to see them, or my new rain fly.

It's nice to do business with good people...

    Snake Skins/Tarp Covers

I received mine in the mail yesterday and immediately hung my hammock in the garage to put them on. Very nice. I am pleased with the item and a very accommodating person to deal with.

I've used both silnylon skins and the Mountaingoat noseeum skins. I prefer the Mountaingoat ones.

I just received mine as well yersterday and immediately hung the Superfly out on the deck. Mountaingoat was a pleasure to deal with.
