    (Video) Grayson Highlands loop

Last weekend I joined my hammocking friends Bonepile, Poof & MedicineMan on a weekend loop hike starting at Grayson Highlands / Mount Rogers National Recreation Area (southern Virginia).

We originally planned this trip during the same weekend as Trail Days, but decided to hold out for better weather (see FIMB's wet weather report).

The weather turned out beautiful, and the camaraderie was even better.

The majority of the footage is from my smartphone, as I once again forgot an SD card for my camcorder.

MedicineMan posted his trip report here, and some of the timelapse video shot on this trip made it into his wonderful video.

Thanks for putting that together Paul. It was a great weekend wasn't it. When my wife watched the video I was afraid she was going to ask me about the new cuben tarp, but it didn't register with her. Whew!

Thanks for the comments MM - always great hanging out with you & Poof.
The Note 2 did surprisingly well, both the video capture & battery. I did have to shut off the phone a number of times to conserve battery, but I was pleased with its performance.

Sounds like she won't notice a new XLC in that case
It was a pleasure as always backpacking with you.

Thanks for views that were not snow, fog, rain, and the other assorted adventures on Grayson. Brought back memories. Really good vid.

Come see us at the Fall Festival in Sept at Grayson. Should be another great hang.

Looking good there, great report and results from a mobile phone! Thanks for the hike along buddy!

And yes: @MM: why the strange poles, did I miss anything in another vid? Timelapse secret components or....?
