Will 3mm bungee cord work ok for the tie outs on my tarp? I know not to use it for the ridgeline.

It'll work OK, but is heavier, bulkier and has less strength than other lines. Could turn your tent stakes into missles in a high wind situation too. Also, i thought i read here on HF that bungee cord will stretch out but not contract when temps are very low in winter.

On some tarps (silnylon) I'll tie a loop of bungee to the tarp tieouts then tie a lighter weight guyline made of dyneema to the bungee loops. Some just use mason's line if you don't mind a bit of stretch.

There are lots of other solutions for getting a bit of tensioning into your guylines.

Thanks, I did not consider the missile factor, don't need a hole in my tarp.
