Video - Trip Report for Paddy Creek Wilderness Mark Twain National Forest

Back on April 19th through April 21st Kerflop, RamenShamen and I Hiked the Big Piney Trail in Paddy Creek Wilderness Area of the Mark Twain National Forest.

I just got around to compiling the video and uploading it to YouTube! For some reason I shot the whole thing in 480 - not to happy about that. Nothing I can do now though!

We Started out at the Roby Lake Trail Head moving Clockwise around the trail on the south loop.

The plan was to hike around and hit the North Loop just past the "Horse Camp" as seen in the video. A good thing to note - if you are ever hiking this trail - LOOK for the North loop trail to spur off North from the South Loop somewhere between the Horse Camp and River. I believe that is how we lost the trail.

RamenShamen took a Lot of cool Pictures and they are included in this video.

Trail Conditions are Rocky and Up Hill Both Ways... Water was High due to the Massive Rains early on in the week. A good Mix of Trees, Pine Trees Scattered in the Mix of the Normal Missouri Woodland.

There was a couple cool waterfalls we stopped at. We ran into a Creepy Turkey Hunter one Day one after we found the forest road then on day 2 found a couple back wood Arkansas Turkey Hunters, they seemed ok.

Day 1 we camped by a River, Must have dropped the Temperature and extra 10 Degrees.... WAS ONE COLD MORNING!!!!

Day 2 Camped on a Ridge overlooking the Valley Below.

Day 3 as a Forced March to the Truck with Biscuits and Gravy on our Minds.

Check out the Videos, again - Sorry for the not so spectacular quality. Also I was battling some wicked Allergies that trip, It is noticeable

Hoot, you should take my Sawyer Squeeze for some test

Anyways, as good as the videos are they cannot express the fun we had out there. It is a beautiful example of why I love the Ozark Mountians. And that lat hill is brutal, but worth it to get up to that ridge and sit with your feet dangling over that 200ft drop.

If you are in the area and have a weekend, this is a must hike.

You dangle your feet. I have reached the point where I do not trust myself that close to the edge... ;-) Great video's, looked like fun. Thanks for sharing!
