    Cheaper than Therapy

It is 7:53am. The children are off to school, the house is cleaned up and chicken has been taken out for supper. I am in the backyard relaxing in my hammock while browsing HF and reading "WILD"...escaping in my mind.
My hammock is my Happy Place. When I feel stressed, which is very often these days, I escape to my hammock. Even a few minutes of hanging does wonders for my stress level. I told my hubby I was headed outside. He said, "to your hammock?" I answered affirmatively. He said, "your therapy." Absolutely....HAMMOCKS...Cheaper than Therapy.

Ah yes, the backyard place for mental healing. So much cheaper than therapy.... I think our husbands appreciate it, because we hang in the hammock for a while and meditate so we don't kill them, or anyone else in the family.

Haha..yeah, I'm sure they do. Plus, prison life would put a cramp in my camping habit. Don't think they'd let me hang a hammock in my cell. That's a thought, though. If prisoners were allowed hammocks, I bet there would be less tension.

He's actually laid in my hammock for awhile in Florence. He wants me to make him a DL tablecloth hammock...progress.

Funny you mention "Wild", someone at work recommended that to me just yesterday. You far enough in to make a recommendation?

    Re: Cheaper than Therapy

Well, I'm on page 81. I really like it. It is an easy read, although the book is lengthy. The author is very honest about her feelings and actions. She writes in a way that makes it easy to "be there" with her as she tells her story. I feel like I can relate to her reasons for leaving her life behind and taking off to the trail in order to rediscover who she really is. Some days, I, too, want to just go into the woods and leave the cares of the world behind. Instead, today at least, I'll just escape through her experiences.

With some of the money that I've seen some folks sink into their kits and gear, I'm not sure it IS cheaper than therapy!
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
