    Preferred Ear plug?

After this last over nighter I was ready to sharpen some sticks and go hunting. Coyotes woke me first, I have no idea what they were chasing but they were quite vocal about it. Closer to way too early morning a turkey or 5 decided to make their way down the ravine near me. Then not too long after them something decided to try and make me go nuts with its "songs." I found out later in the day it was sand hill cranes being all crazy at 4 am. Do you guys that use plugs like the squishy one or do you wind up getting a real set?

    Preferred Ear plug?

I always have 3-4 pairs of the cheapie foam ones that I buy in bulk from just about any drug store.

Those sounds don't bother me, it's generally man made noises that I can't take. I use the silicone rubber triple flange type I was issued in the army. Green, for the small ear holes lol. I found em somewhere on the net a few years ago and ordered another ten pair and stashed em everywhere in various gear bags so I always have a set available...Bush

    Hei,

I have always a small "container" hanging from ridgeline with "the yellow" plugs 2+1spare.

They are there always, so no need to search them in the middle of the nigth.

Home Depot sells 3M in bulk

Half in purple, half in orange. I forget the total number, but much cheaper than at a drugstore. And the 3Ms are VERY soft. Many cheap-os are too stiff for my liking.

Yeah the foam ones seem to be the most common. Most cost effective also.

I have quite a few cheap-o's I wear at the range, so I'll likely use them. Last night in the back yard I just put in my mp3 player while I slept because the wonderful dogs wouldn't shut up. I figured I'll take a pair or two with me on trips just in case.

For work I use Doc Pro plugs, they have a length of plastic so you don't loose them, they are great however I'm not sure about sleeping in them.

Has anyone tried over the ear noise cancelling headphones? Or just a pair of ear muffs?
