    Clark Hammock Dimensions?

    Hey folks,

    I'm designing a tarp and am currently thinking it would work well with a Clark hammock.

    Does anyone have dimension specs for the NX-250, the NX-150, and/or the NA when hanging? Specifically, I need the distance lengthwise and the width between the NX pole attachment points when hanging. On the NA this would be the distances between the tie/stake out loops with someone hanging inside as they will move closer together I imagine with weight. I also need the overall length (aka ridge length) when hung properly as well as the depth of sag with someone inside.

    Any info will help me finish my design, order the right hammock, and build a prototype. Woohoo!

    Thanks all!

    I just this morning put a measuring tape over my NX250, just under 8 ft. as it hangs. I use 10 1/2 and 11 ft. tarps and never feel I have too much coverage. But then I really don't like to get wet.

    Clark Hammock Dimensions?

    Thanks old hat, that helps some. I also really need the distance between the pole attachment points along with width when hung and someone is in it. I am not designing a typical tarp. This one has poles and a side vestibule. The plastic prototypes are getting close but I need to dial it in with my future hammock... ;-)

    I can get the measurements you need from an NX250 but it will be late this week before I can do it. If you still need some measurements then, I will post them.

    Pole pocket to pole pocket, 58", width at the hoop, 25". If you need more my hammock is always up.

    Thanks again old4hats! That's great! The last dimension I need is the depth from the "ridgeline" to the bottom in the center with someone in it.

    So far I think everything is looking good. This will be fun to try out.

    Thanks again!

    Here's what I came up with...

    Unloaded:
    OAL = 94"
    Distance between hoops = 55"
    Width at pole pockets - Foot end = 45" Head end = 40"
    (difference is due to difference in 'hoop to end' distance)
    Bed Width - foot end = 37" head end = 33"
    distance from low point to hoop 'ridgeline' = 29"

    Loaded:
    OAL = 94"
    Distance between hoops = 55"
    Width at pole pockets - Foot end = 35" Head end = 36"
    Bed Width - foot end = 28" head end = 29"
    distance from low point to hoop 'ridgeline' = 33"

    I'm interested in what you come up with for a custom tarp - keep us posted

    Thanks!

    Thanks a lot passinthru,

    I've been doing a lot of brain work and have posted my most recent ideas here:

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=71620

    I'm thinking of trying to make a more universal setup in case I want to try different hammocks in the future. But I think that the clark hammocks will all work just fine as well.

    Cheers!
