    Getting closer

Got a Hennessy explorer deluxe from a friend for my son. Brand new and got a good deal. Bottom entry with 30d tarp. Now I have to get a setup for myself. Great knowledge base here for me to make selections on what I get.

Congrats on the Hennessey, and good luck with finding the perfect one for you. I can recommend PapaSmurf's ThunderBird and other models, Warbonnet's got several different models that are awesome, BIAS makes great hammocks and gear, Wilderness Logics hammocks are great, and there are many more that I haven't mentioned.

My biggest concern is I am 6'1" and 265lbs and what to make sure I am comfortable. Ohh and heavy into Boy Scouts so money stretched thin.

You just described a few dozen members with that last comment Consider a DIY tableclotch hammock, their not difficult to make. You can get the table cloth from table cloths factory. Since your over 6 foot consider using one of these as a blank to make a gather end hammock. More info on doing that can be found here

    True!

This is a great route. I have done it myself as well, and that was a huge leap for me. It is very easy. All you need to know is one very simple knot.

10 foot or bigger is what I'd suggest. 60"+ wide is also recommended.
I'm bigger than you and have found many a hammock that work fine.

Well, a big thanks to bajahanger. I like what papa smurf has to offer and talked to him today via email. He is a great guy.
I am torn, I have a tablecloth blank that I might make up, but not sure I have the time. I like dangerbird but long wait. I like the hh deluxe but found it is only 9ft. The blackbird is also looking like a real good option. Too many options.....brain hurts
