Post New hanger from Mesa Arizona

Hellow fellow hangers my name is cody wilkins or coyvan as my friends call me I'm 18 going on 19 this june. I'm guessing that I might be one of the younger hangers on this site and I'm fine with that.

In the summer of 2012 I got my GED cus I was tired of high school but having done this it gave me lots of hours in the day to do what ever I wanted so fist I got a job. You might ask what does this have to do with hammocks, well when I get off of work I like to do projects and maybe some time in march I got the idea to make a woven hammock out of 550 paracord. uUeing a little of my own designe and a lot of youtube I compleated my first woven hammock and it was a nasty little thing coming to a small 7x3 feet at its widest but it works alright. That's how I got started since then I've researched hammocks and have made a beautiful 13x8 foot woven para cord hammock as a gift for my brother. My lattest hammock that I've made is a gathered end ripstop hammock that is now my pride and joy. In its draw string bag it fits in to a 6x6x6 inch space and weighs so far 13.9 ounces where as the first woven hammock weighs 2lbs 11.2 ounces and the one I gave to my brother around 7lbs

I'm an eagle scout and I love camping and I'm lookng forward to many comfotable nights hanging in the trees.

Welcome from SC. We have a great DIY section here. Seems like you've been bitten by the bug. I think that there is a younger forum member in Waterloo, IA and probably others out there.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

Well, Cody, I'd say you will be heading to the mountains to do any hanging. Unless maybe you have a stand, not a lot of trees in Mesa I'm guessing. Just remember if you head up higher you will need something to keep your back warm, pad or under quilts (UQ ). But welcome to hammock hanging and the HF!
