What do you use when the temp is between 45-60 ? I have one underquilt and its a full length WL rated to 15... I was burning up at night when the temps only got down to the upper 40's. All opinions appreciated.

Not too much, just enough to stay warm but not hot.
Added a blue foam pad as a test last night, temps in the mid 50's.
The pad was too much, back sweat, hot.
Sticking with an underquilt allowing me the option of opening up the ends to cool off if I want.
What were you using for a top quilt?.. Under quilts ( IMO) don't reach full potential unless you are trapping the heat from above them.. I use a 0 degree in my house full time, and either not use a tq-blanket at all or vent underneath..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

I've used a WL summer underquilt rated about 40-50 if i remember...have the short one- Figure i can use a piece of pad beneath my feet if they get cold during the summer... been using it indoors and works great! Other vendors make summer quilts also. Down or Synthetic, that is the question...

This works marvelously on partial length UQs, but is also as effective with the full length quilts; just not quite as easy, since you don't have to leave the hammock to adjust the partials.

I made a 3-layer IX UQ specifically for this temp range. Works as advertised.
I've been trying out a few things. Personally I dont like how pads and reflectix type solutions change the feel of the lay.
My main UQ will be a 15degree Leighlo. And if I cant get it comfortable in the warmer months, ( sub-tropical heat, rain and humidity here) I will be getting a Baby Orca or Shamu.
I use a 20* Underground Zeppelin with 2 oz over stuff. Has been in the mid 40's at night here and I have been comfortable with it fully attached with a UQ protector over the bottom and mini cover over the top of the lower 2/3 rds of the hammock. Was using a fleece bag (WMT version) with a gortex bivy sack set up like a top quilt. Have been trying that out since I just sold my 20* top quilt and have a 0* on order.
Am a very cold sleeper, but this works OK.
Love is blind. Marriage is an eye opener.
I have a long Coleman nylon rain poncho with light fleece liner that folds up into a stadium-seat cushion. If it's going to be above 45F and buggy, I'll deploy the HH Survivor and just wear the poncho while sleeping on my side.
Keeps out the wind and keeps me just warm enough. It's just about as heavy as my 4s setup but I get a comfy insulated seat and rain gear as a bonus. Excellent camo in an oak forest, too. But I wouldn't like to try 40F in it.
Nice to have a squadron of hammock/insulation combos for every situation.
