Are you able to get the elevation profile in Gmap4?
I typically use Hillmap.com but I see some features in Gmap4 I like better (like exporting info for a GPS).

veloroutes.org will give you elevation. You can view topo maps with veloroute and pick out the marked pack trails. I used to use it all the time for hiking, although it is intended for cyclists.

Alas, Gmap4 does not do elevation profiles. I might add that at some point but not sure when.

Just didn't know if you wanted to do that off the job. As an ex-cop, we enjoyed pushing the "up" elevator button or holding the door for you...

    Jelf,

Nice tool with that topo map. Thank you. The one thing that got me on this hike was, I was thinking that all the elevation gain the first day was up to Nevada Falls. I was thinking that from this point on it would be a slow elevation gain to Merced Lake. I wasn't expecting the switchbacks up the granite wall on the back side of Bunnell Point. If you look at the topo lines here, you can see they are pretty close together making it a fairly steep climb late in the day that I was not expecting. In any case, it was a very beautiful hike.
