Golden Trout Wilderness

I am looking for an trip for my grandson and myself soon. I have done the Grey Meadows area a couple of times and thinking about the Forks of the Kern for fishing. Any one have any feed back on the area? I have heard the fishing is great? He has been on several short hops and is ready for something of substance. There seems to be plenty of places to hang from. Also has anyone hammock camped in the Mineral King area? It has been years since I hiked the area and if I remember al lot of the area is above the tree line? THANKS

I am looking at that trip to August it's a hot trip though I guess. The fishing looks good from what I've seen I have fished the Kern but not this portion and did ok.
