I have been searching for a great post like this as a foolproof guide to assist me in my first Homemade top quilt. This is an absolutely incredible in-depth DIY post, thanks xtrekker!

Great looking TQ's, X! Hope you and Mrs X enjoy them! Just think how comfy you'll be once you have the UQ's done...as you know it never ends!

I have since finished one of the UQs from the initial post back in March. Took it down to 26°F and was still tosty. Willing to be that the combination of the TQ and UQ will get me to 0° with ease. TQ has 16oz of 850fill and UQ has 18oz of 850fill. That's 34oz of down wrapped around my body. Since then I have decided to give bridge hammocks a try and if I end up liking the bridge hammocks more, then I will try and convert my UQ to fit it. If it doesnt fit then I will chop it up and reclaim the down and make a new one.
