    Will this hang work?

I am looking into getting the ENO doublenest for my first hammock. I am thinking the easiest place for me to hang it indoors would be between two support beams in my basement that are a little over 7 feet apart. I am wondering if this is too close together? I know the hammock is over 9' long but am unsure as to how the sag will take away from the overall length. Any help will be appreciated!!!

If this doesn't work, I will probably just buy a cheap stand that is easy to put up and take down.

9' would need 7.5 ft minimum. i have done 7' by tying part of hammock around support. not optimal, but in a pinch.

If you factor in the stock ropes the optimal distance is even more. I have hung an ENO with a ton of sag before and while it is not optimal it's not horrible either. It's still fairy comfortable to lounge and sit in although the hammock will come up the side of your body a bit more. If your basement has exposed joists, you can hang from those quite easily.

Thanks for the help! It looks like I'll be buying a stand...

Any thoughts on the Bliss hammock stand?

Just my 2 cents but could you put an eyebolt in a wall farther away and use one of the posts? This said, I don't know if the stress on an eyebolt would result in catastrophic failure...I don't know what kind of force a hammock exerts on a single point. Any engineers who can weigh in?
