I am trying to be patient but . . .

I ordered a Jungle Hammock on the 19th of December. I was told it would take 15 days for the hammock to arrive. As of today it is 14 days over the original 15 day waiting period and still no hammock. A week ago when I wrote Tom Claytor asking if there was something wrong I was told to be patient. Patience is one thing but . . . my brother in law had a Volvo shipped from Sweden in this amount of time! (he really did!) Has anyone else had such an experience with this supplier?

By the way thanks for all of the info on this forum.

And sorry my first post is a complaint! I'll try to do better in future posts.

well keep in mind two things, both which could delay shipping and both are because of so many holidays this time of year. 1. Lots of holidays that the USPS does not work. 2 because of the increase in volume the USPS is usually slower this time of year. While 30 days does seem a bit extreme I imagine all you can do is wait it out. I know it can be frustrating waiting for something you want. I had the same issue with my hammock and hammock stand. Bought both and two months later I finally got both and got to use it. I felt like a kid waiting for christmas. It took forever

I would have to agree with the holiday theory...
My Claytor took 14 days, but that was in the early summer...

Nice to have another Indiana Hanger on HF...Welcome! (Greenwood here)

Neo and I both have asked Tom to start shipping from the US and he actually does if you pay for it, extra shipping, etc.. I think he is getting a bad reputation for delivery times. One of mine took over six weeks. I think it got lost and he had to send another. It was a no-net. I hope you get yours soon. Mule

When I ordered mine I got it in right about 2 weeks time. It does make you want to waiting too long for something doesn't it? Just makes it that much sweeter when you do get it (attempt at finding silver lining).

    Bob,
Ordered mine middle of Nov and had a little wait.
Guess folks in Bangkok had it a little worse.
    Took mine about five weeks.
    John

    “” Hi John -
Please hang in there because protesters took over both Bangkok airports for 8 days at the end of last month. It was a real disaster with 100,000 people stranded and about 6,000 stuck in no man's land inside the airport. Give it another ten days.
Thanks,”” TOM (On Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 2:57 AM)

Thanks for the encouragement to hang in there everyone. I don't mind waiting when I know I have to. However, it would save alot of ill will if customers were told up front it could take more than a month to receive a hammock. But then again I might have gone to different brand if I did know that. Oh well. I'll keep waiting. I sure am looking forward to hanging in my garage until I get the hang of it all!
