    Claytor Hammocks

    Hey everyone,

As I do my final bits of research as to what hammock I'm going to purchase I'd like to ask a few questions. My main requirements for my purchase is that I need a hammock with an integrated bug net. With this I've pretty much narrowed it down to three choices. (WBBB, Claytor Jungle, and the DD Frontline)

I'm drawn to the Claytor mainly on the price point. 150 bucks for the hammock and the tarp?! Sounds good to me for sure. I'm curious as to what the owners of this hammock have to say about it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Any advice is much appreciated.

On a side note, I'm 5'9 and 180 pounds if this helps in any way.

    Cazador.

Same boat as you. The price point is hard to beat with the tarp.

I am the opposite of Neo, I had both and preferred the Claytor jungle over the DD.

I have six hammocks now, my original and my wife's current hammock is the Claytor Jungle. She likes her thermarest pad under her and this hammock is great for a pad. I still use the diamond tarp. I like being able to see out of the hammock into my surrounds.

While there could be some improvement on the design, the value this hammock brings is a great way to get started. If you are like most of us here you will accumulate others over time. I have also liked the stealthness of the camo pattern with both the tarp and the hammock. All in all, I have been pleased with it. Pleased enough I bought a third one.

Excellent, very comfortable hammocks, though most of my experience is with the No Net model. But, be sure and check that shipping price!

i used the claytor jungle for over 6 solid years straight.i bought my 1st dd hammock years ago also.i did not like the early dd hammock.the claytor has made no improvements.

    the dd frontline
1.a better double bottom for pad users
2.4 tent peg loops if you go to the ground.
    4.internal pockets
5.inside hanging loops at each ends
    6.folding nettiong spreader and sleeve
    7.wider than the claytor
    8.25 bucks cheaper
9.maked it 2 my door step in 2 days instead of 2 weeks

Love the Claytor. Get a different tarp. A better tarp will cost more, but will be worth it. If you need a cheap tarp, just use a crappy 8x10 till you get a decent one like and OES or a JRB, etc...
