    ALPS mountaineering pad?

I found their ccf pad is offered in various sizes. I was looking at the XL pad 5/8"x30"x72". Im thinking this could get me down to pretty low temps with my 0* sleeping bag? its a little spendier @ $29 vs 2 walmart pads and trimming them @ $16, but the ones i found at walmart seemed like they wouldnt be very flexible.

the only complaint I have heard about alps pad is its not very durable. Easily gets rips or holes. I have an army surplus pad used down into the upper 20's with no issues. Its about as durable as you get and cost me $7. It doesn't roll up small, but does more then the job.

Would the XL be too big for a wbbb @ 72x30x5/8"?

This might be better addressed in the WB vendor section. I'm sure some of the crew in there could answer this for ya.

I slept pretty well on that pad a couple weeks ago. I had used it with a 25 degree bag with another liner that added 5 degrees, on a 15 degree night. I'm a warm sleeper, but I wore smart wool socks, khakis & dress shirt (I was just coming from my goddaughter's birthday party), a fleece lined windbreaker, a fleece lined hat, and a Chaos thermal regulation face toaster.

Good to hear, I've got a 0degree bag and sleep in a fleece top n bottom with wool socks, just picked up a lightweight wool sweater too. I stay pretty warm all the time, so I'm hoping this setup can get me down there temp wise.

Forgot to mention that I threw a few hand warmers in my sleeping bag, but it sounds like you have everything covered with the 0* sleeping bag.
