    Great report!

    I just signed on to an early May Hermit Trail backpacking trip where I will get my first taste of the Grand Canyon. I asked the group leader about hammock use and was told that most campsites lack trees sturdy enough for a hammock so they are not recommended on this trip. Since we will be camping on the way to and from Louisville Ky, my plan is to hang on the way there with 5 night of ground dwelling in the middle.

    I have just under 2 months to increase my endurance and get in better shape.
