I'd like to get some permethrin to coat my hammocks and other gear. All I have seen so far is a 24 oz spray bottle. Is this what everyone gets or is there something bigger. Also how do you apply, just spray liberally or soak it?

You can buy it in big buckets at farm supply stores....
Can't beat Amazon for Permethrin:

I mix with water in a garden spray applicator like this from Home Depot:

Spray away!
I buy mine at the local Tractor Supply
Only saw the small bottles on amazon, didn't see that big one. Forgot about tractor supply, and now that I think of it I have another ag store by me that most likely has it in bulk! Thanks for the ideas. Now do you have tips on application?
They advise you don't let it touch the skin, so I'd spray rather than soak. Let it dry out good before packing.
The stuff i bought at Tractor Supply had a bad oder to it. The Sawyer stuff from REI, EMS, Wal-Mart where ever is more money but doesn't smell just FYI
This least offensive smelling product I've found is bedbug killer from Bed, Bath and Beyond. It comes in gallon size and ships free. It was a tip from another member. I paid $20, but it looks like it's on sale right now. I also keep a spray bottle of sawyer in the vehicle...
local Walmart...
I buy 33% from the feed store... You're supposed to dilute it. I always mix my own, a little stronger than what it calls for, and spray around the house outside to prevent pests.
I've never sprayed clothes with it. It smells pretty dam strong as it comes, it would take a good air out before I would wear it.
