Lenovo makes good machines all the way around. This is the T430 with the upgraded resolution (and matte) screen running linux and I have a Windows Virtual machine for that one class that requires a windows only codec for my streaming lectures. But, I've got 16 gig of ram and a SSD so I don't notice a lot of strain

As for hanging inside, you should look into the turtledog or turtlelady stands... I hear good things. Also, get the significant other's approval before you hang it in the bedroom.. they get funny about that.
