Home and showered after a great weekend in the woods. Would have loved for it to have been a little cooler but then we wouldn't have had all the fun in the creek. Enjoyed meeting the members that joined us, Mighty Mouse, Duffy, Gone Native and Gameboy. Hope they had enough fun to join us again. Missed all those unable to make the trip. My count ended up being 16 but at my age may have missed someone. Photos to follow later fills like a nap now.

MMMMMM......Bacon wrapped dates!
Samsara, thank you so much for setting this up. Sorry you couldn't stay. Gameboy and I had a great time as usual. Hope having a active 10 year old ginger was not too much of a strain on everyone, but he was very proud of himself. Thanks Olddog, Gameboy really looks up to you. As for the rest of you Florida Hangers, ya'all are A hardy bunch. It's one thing to hang in sub freezing conditions, it's another entirely different situation to hike many miles in 90 degree temps with the Florida sun blazing down on you. But then there is the STREAM, Matthew must has been in there 3 hours. Glad no gators or snakes joined the party. Looking forward to pics. Oh yea, nice meeting the old gang and the new ones.
SPECIALK
Indeed it was a glorious (and gloriously hot) weekend. But, the great company and good food (plus a swim in the creek) made up for the heat. Trust me, bacon wrapped dates release copious amounts of endorphins in the brain!!!
A few pictures showing the tree canopy over our campsite, the hiking contingent at a hiker bridge crossing, and a ring neck snake who wanted some mountain man breakfast

Well, crud...guess I'll just have to come out to play bear bait some time later this year. Make sure it's Wrights, though; that stuff is tasty, and I can always snack in the mornin' if it don't work for the bears...
Great photos, MAD777! Glad to see everyone made it out there, sweaty or not!
Whose grill is that, emcee, and how much does it weigh? I might think about bringing something like that on my bike trips, where I can stop in town to grab some fresh meat before hitting the campsite...
