My favorite place to backpack is Crosby Manitou State Park in MN. I was curious to hear other hangers favorite place to go. Maybe i will someday try a few away from my sweet spot

Kek trail. Any spot on the kek or border route.

In my neck of the woods, Shenandoah National Park (backcountry) or George Washington National Forest. Mt. Rogers (Virginia) is on my bucket list but I have not been there yet.
I love the Big Horn National Forest, around cloud peak area. I also love the Boundary Waters in Minnesota near Wednesday Bay, but that is more canoeing then it is backpacking! I am going to Puerto Rico in 10 days so we will see where that ranks!
There is only one hiking trail close to where I live, the Neusiok Trail. The next closest hiking trails are a good 3+ hours drive
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Buffalo River Valley. Northwest Arkansas.
Red River Gorge in KY.
Anywhere on the AT.
Anywhere else.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
Hard for me to think of a better place I've been that Grand Teton National Park, although Rocky Mtn NP is close. In my neck of the woods we really don't have anything close, but I'd say my favorite local spot would be my own farm. I love wandering the woods on my place.
Off the beaten trail, hiking and backpack camping state park well worth a visit for a day of hiking along river or stay overnight, especially at full moon for good views.
Anywhere out west above 7000 ft..wow,,,to many to name,,lets see,,,wind river range, tetons, yellowstone, glacier, gsmnp. Just spread my ashes anywhere on any old mountain will do for me.
