While trolling for salmon a good deal of time is spent looking up at the tips of the poles. You can get a sore neck without even trying.
In 1995 on a commercial salmon troller off California I hung a hammock from the boom. I thought this was going to be great. Just laying back, looking up, and waiting for a bite. Unfortunately laying in the hammock made me feel sick immediately. Captain made a few jokes and then had the same thing happen to him. Nowhere on deck to hang it thwartship so home it went. For years I’ve kept my camping gear in it. Now I’m ready to make a hammock park of my camping gear. Just want to make sure I don’t hang it stem to stern again.
btw how do you tell which way the forest is heading?
As always, Will
