Your best deal on hammock equipment?

OK...what is the best deal you have gotten on hammock-related equipment (please, let's keep the topic centered). You may have found something at a thrift store, or in the woods, or gotten a really good buy from a cottage manufacturer.

I will start us off. When I first got into hammocking, and had only made one hammock (gathered end, integrated zipper bugnet, adjustable ridgeline), I found a person on CL selling (unused) a Hennessy UL Explorer with stock tarp and snakeskins, Hennessy Hex fly with snakeskins, and an extra bugnet of some sort. All military issue . For the exorbitant price of $50 . Truly a good start to my gear.

And this week I got one of those military jungle hammocks for $10 (honestly about the highest I would pay to try one out, but not a bad price).

    What is your story?

*Now come on people...let's hear some prices!

I got a jarbidge for 1/2 price here on the forum. A 3/4 thermarest for $10 at gander mountain and the best deal I ever got was a 40degree down sleeping bag at a thrift store of $4, best part about it was that it was the cheapest bag they had at the store. The same store wanted $8 for a Marlboro sleeping bag.

At EMS when they have their returns for sale I got the best pair of hiking boots I've had ever, a pair of Solomon Discovery GTX boots for $45. They had never been used and still in the box. They were only returned because one boot is a 10 1/2 and the other is a 11. I honestly can't tell the difference they fit better than any boot I've had that are both the same.
Also at my local goodwill store I found a brand new pair of new balance hiking poles for $1.99. That's about as far as my luck goes, I NEVER have good enough luck to find good deals on great equipment.

Don't know if you totally consider this a deal or a repurpose, but I bought one of the Coleman canopy sides which are waterproof when I started hanging to get hanging. Anyways long story short it started its transformation into a mac cat micro/standard last night. I payed about $15 for the sunshade as they call it and another $10 for 30yds of grosgrain. Hard to beat a $25 hex tarp. Oh and when finished (hopefully next weekend) will weigh less than a pound.

I spotted up a Hennessy Ultralite Backpacker on Craiglist for $20; It needed a tarp. A friend that had recently switched to using the hex tarp and kindly donated his old asym tarp to use with this hammock.

I picked up a Northwoods Wolf Hammock with a RL organizer for $45.00 shipping included which would have cost me close to $80.00 with shipping to Canada if I bought it from the vendor. It would have been worth it at $80.00 for a good hammock plus suspension plus RL organizer but almost half off is hard to beat.

I got a pair of Keen hiking boots that were normally $130 for $35 at the last REI scratch and dent sale. The only reason they had been returned was that the previous owner didn't like the way they wore when he first tried them on, so he returned them without even using them. Best boots I've ever owned.
