    Help please with diy asym

OK I sewed (OK my SIL was nice enough to do the sewing but I helped, somebody has to make sandwiches and soft drinks) the Hennesee clone (asym).
Need help with a couple of things.
    1. Could someone direct me to or provide me with directions for properly folding/gathering/bunching up/ $#@*&/ the ends of the hammock for whipping.
    2. What is a good way to attach the suspension ropes to the ends. I'm using bull rope (in my business we have an almost inexhaustable supply) which is a flat rope about an inch wide and has tremendous strength. I'd like to be able to use this rope for my tree huggers, suspension, etc. It made great loops for the tie outs. Backed it with another piece.

I hung the hammock up and weight tested it with WMD...Weapons of Myass Destruction. It passed the test and was even comfortable although it was strung between the bow eye of my boat and a tree. The boat was on a trailer so I had a little height. Didn't want too much altitude in case of failure.
I still have to add my bug net but I have a tarp.
The noseeum cover will be scrounged from an unserviceable family tent. I should have less than $11 in this when complete.

If you haven't seen it, this is the best Asym Hammock tutorial I've seen. Thank you HC4U. My guess is that's where you started with doing a HH mock up, if not, check it out.

Just Jeff's site is amazing, and should definitely be bookmarked. He's got almost everything you need to know about Hammocking all right there. Here's his page on whipping the ends of the hammock. Just don't pull extra fabric out like in his tutorial for your Asym.

As for attaching your rope to the hammock ends, most people seem to use a larks head. So long as your hammock has slightly larger bulk at the end, the larks head will work fine. I've used a larks head with 1" tubular webbing, so your bull rope should work.

Try this one for some pics of the HH whipping being deconstructed.

Tell me all about your bugnet building. I've made a couple of these asym's using HC4U's instructions (thanks again!). But I'm still trying to work out a bugnet I'll be happy with. I want simple and removable and I don't really want zippers or velcro, so I"ll probably go with something like a bugnet sock. I'm real interested in what you end up doing and hearing about how it goes. Definitely post pics.

I'll bet the sock would hardly be heavier than a removable net due to not using zippers.

Looking at this photo below, it looks like the sides of the hammock body are cut as a paralellogram the same as the netting.
So the sides are not straight at all but cut out toward the side ties outs.
Would this be right? I plan on making one this weekend.

The hammock body is a simple rectangle. The end is whipped and the sides follow the bug net.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    Great thanks
Are the sides just rolled in as per headchange4u's instructions?

I'm not familiar with his instructions but the consensus is they are very good. I would follow them if I was going to make one.
