    Arizona Hang, Spring '09

no details yet, just a heads up that there will be a hang in central Arizona this early Sprin. There are 7 hangers (and growing!) that I know personally here in AZ and our newest fledgling Alex who just purchased a HH explorer deluxe. Welcome Alex!
here's a list of places I have in mind:
Washington Park on the Highline Trail
    Chevelon Canyon from telephone ridge
    Powers Garden
    Thomson Trail - Wht. Mtns.
Mt. Graham (camp @ josephine saddle)

I will be adding details as the month of March approaches.
    Arizona hangers, heres our chance!

Sounds great Mike! It's really nice having some other hangers around here.

well, it already (is?) feels like spring, high in phoenix today is 78.
get on out here, Counselor - Kendrick is great in summer.
Another superb hike I want to do is overnight @ Hart Prairie and summit Humphrey's.
fyi, Humphrey's Peak is 12,647' (latest USGS measurement)
and you guys thought AZ was all desert...

I would even love to come out from Indiana if the hang was in Flagstaff. I would just have to stay a week or two. Tough, but someone has to do a dirty job like that. Mule
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

I'm assuming that's coming up the inner basin right?

    Sounds great Mikeinfhaz!

There is about a 50/50 chance I could make a road trip to hang with you guys. I usually visit the SouthWest in April, but another additional hammock camping trip is a welcomed idea. I'd like to benefit from a local's perspective on good hanging sites, plus it would be sure to give me a chance to discuss hammock innovations and such. Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'll see you all there!

man, for you guys who love Flagstaff... have I got a treat for you. One of the places that springs to my mind is the West Fork of Oak Creek. This is one of - if not the premier hikes in that area. About 20 miles south of Flag in Sedona's Red Rock Wilderness.
there is a mandatory knee deep wade to get past the first pool and you cannot camp below mile 6 (i think) but for a 6 mile, fantastic canyon hike inside walls that rise over 300' with enough trees for every member of this site!
get in on this. depending on group decision it can be done in late April, early May. Then, the weather is perfect.

    Check out the pics:
